Policy # 003: EVENTS IN Clarendon Hills Downtown Business District (CHDBD) - ITEMS or SERVICES OFFERED DURING EVENTS 

SUBJECT: EVENTS IN CHDBD - ITEMS or SERVICES OFFERED DURING EVENTS

POLICY:  It is the Chamber of Commerce’s mission to support the village businesses and economic growth regardless if they are a Chamber member.  As a policy, all vendors, contractors, and booths that participate in any Chamber related event that is hosted in CHDBD (as defined by Village of CH zoning boundaries) must not sell items or services on the Non-Compete list developed and updated by the Chamber on a yearly basis.  

PROCEDURE: This procedure ONLY applies to Chamber related events hosted in the Clarendon Hills Downtown Business District. Link to the zoning map.

Definitions:  Items refer to tangible items that can be given away or sold.  Services refer to a service performed by an individual.

Definitions: A sale is defined as any item sold where money is exchanged for an item before, during or after an event either in person or online

VENDORS, CONTRACTORS, SUPPLIERS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS

  • Any vendors, contractors, suppliers, or service providers that need to be hired or scheduled for a Chamber related event in CHDBD cannot sell or give away items or services that are listed on the Chamber Non-Compete CHDBD List and must read, sign, and return their understanding that they cannot sell or give away items on this list in order to participate in a Chamber related event.  

  • The Event Committee Chair is to send and receive this document from vendors or contractors prior to the event start date

  • Any vendors, contractors, suppliers, or service providers that need to be hired or scheduled by the Chamber for a Chamber related event in CHDBD will need to be offered in the following order within a specified timeline determined by the Board:

    • CHDBD Chamber-Members;

    • then Non-CHDBD Chamber-Members;

    • then to Clarendon Hills’ businesses Non-Chamber Members;

    • then Outside entity/ Non-Chamber Members

  • All aspects of the Vendor, Contractor, Supplier, and Service Provider Policy must be followed

BOOTHS  

  • Any Booth sponsors that purchase a table for a Chamber related event in CHDBD cannot sell or give away items that are listed on the Chamber Non-Compete CHDBD List unless it supports the CHDBD business directly, i.e. giving away a gift card to a local store.

  • The non-compete list created by the Chamber will be added to the Booth/Table sponsoring forms as disclosure. No signature needed.

  • Service Businesses who sponsor a booth will not be located in front of related CHDBD service provider stores during Chamber events.
